Run 17km Today!

I have been regularly running since around 2012. I began by practicing a tip from “The Power of Habit”, giving myself a treat after a run. After a while, running became a habit that made me craved for it. By the way, I highly recommend “The Power of Habit” book, it has changed my life.

I ran my first half marathon at Jakmar 2017 event. My stamina has decreased since then, especially after Rhinitis attack in 2019. I’ve been rebuilding my stamina since late 2019, starting from the ground up by running 3 km. My longest run since 2019 was a 12 km run during a virtual running event.

A few days ago I made a running appointment with my friend. He told me that he would run 5 km starting from Taman Menteng. Since I wanted to run 10-ish km, I started running at Gambir Station and then met him at Taman Menteng. I was exhausted on Satrio Street, but having a running partner made me push myself further. In the end we finished running at Setiabudi One. My friend happened to run 10 km, making me ran 7 + 10 km.

My clothes was soaked. My feet was sore. My throat was dry. We took a rest at the nearest convenience store. I emptied 2 liters of water.

Fyi, he ran his first 22 km in 4 months. He plans to run a full marathon in 2022. This motivates me to train harder and run a full marathon too!
